"So Glad You're Here" by DJ4AM is a soundtrack to a lost movie about a serial killer, a testament to memories of lives and love lost, a static ridden psychedelic dance party consisting of a lone person wearing headphones conducting an invisible orchestra with a half empty wine bottle in hand.
This album is yet another installment of sample based beat art committed by a 30 year vet: DJ4AM. These tracks were conceived over 10 years ago in a broke down San Francisco rented room and finalized at a small desk in the back of a Tower District house in the dead of night. The music is melancholy, melodic, beat heavy, warm. It exists in the eye of a tornado. The sample sources range from 70s soul to 60s era dirty dancing anthems, to 80s radio pop, to swamp soaked voodoo music, to vocal pop standards, to choral chants commited to tape by former cult members. Welcome in... trust me, it makes sense.
